Course Description

This course is the 2nd of a two-course series for practicing teachers.

The purpose of this course is to support teachers and other educators at Stafford County Public Schools in the development of knowledge and skills in online teaching. During this course, teachers will work to transition a new or existing course into an online course while applying technology tools available at Stafford Schools and integrating pedagogical strategies that align with best practices in online teaching.

Identify and define elements for effective online course design.

Explain the impact of learning theory and instructional design approaches on online course design.

Use the online course design checklist and other appropriate tools when designing an online course.

Create an online course shell that includes a blend of synchronous and asynchronous learning, interactivity, equity mindset that is accessible and inclusive to a community of learners, and assessments for learning.
