Course Description

Participants in this one-credit course will investigate the impact that trauma has on students and teachers. We will review classroom structures that support trauma-sensitive practices, as well as trauma-sensitive classroom strategies and techniques that can be integrated into K-12 classrooms. Participants will work collaboratively to identify specific needs of their students and will develop (or begin to develop) a plan to infuse needs-based trauma-sensitive structures and strategies into their classrooms.

Learner Outcomes

Upon course completion, participants will be able to define and identify signs of trauma and develop a plan to infuse a needs-based trauma-sensitive structures and strategies into their classrooms.
