Microsoft Excel is a spreadsheet application widely used by employees in various roles in organizations to solve important problems. The goal of this course is to address essential features of Excel. Students will build Excel spreadsheets from scratch using various features such as pivot tables, data validation, and conditional logic to help solve important business problems. This course assumes limited prior knowledge of Microsoft Excel and is ideal for students who are new to Excel or who want to enhance their knowledge of Excel.
After taking this course, students should be able to setup a new Microsoft Excel spreadsheet to solve a basic business problem, such as break-even analysis. Students should be able to use the features of Microsoft Excel:
Basic functions such as SUM, COUNT, AVERAGE
Absolute and relative cell referencing
Create a basic pivot table
Conditional logic functions such as IF and VLOOKUP
Create a break-even graph
